Hamachi: Roll Your Own VPNs the Fast and Free Way. Create and Manage Your Own Virtual Private Networks.
Prior to the existence of the Internet as we know it today, if you needed a secure connection between two systems on remote networks, your choices were essentially to use a dedicated high-speed circuit like a T1 line or to rely on a slow modem, with both options often getting quite expensive.
These connection methods were largely supplanted by the advent of virtual private networks (VPNs), which have made connecting remote computers significantly cheaper by setting up an encrypted and “tunneled” connection across the Internet, allowing multiple computers or networks to communicate securely across an inherently insecure medium.
The catch with VPNs, however, is that they can be hard to set up. By contrast, Applied Networking, Inc. rather confidently calls its Hamachi software a zero-config VPN application. We found that Hamachi does in fact make setting up a secure connection between systems a relatively simple affair that could easily be performed even by someone without significant networking expertise.

What is KillBox ?
KillBox is a tool to delete in-use files. If the file is running, KillBox will attempt to end the process (close the running file) and delete it. For more difficult files that have loaded .dll’s or are services, Delete on Reboot will use the native Windows function of deleting or replacing in-use files.
Ways to add files into KillBox:
• Copy file names one at a time and paste them into the Combobox.
• Copy an entire text file and use the File > Paste from Clipboard function to add all filenames at once.
• Browse for the desired file using the browse button.
• Drag & Drop a file from Windows Explorer to the KillBox Combobox.
Download KillBox here. Checkout more help in KillBox before you apply.

Adware invasion July 21, 2006
Posted by wincom in News & Information.add a comment
“More than 1 million users of MySpace.com and other Web sites may have been infected with adware spread by a banner advertisement, according to iDefense, a computer security group.”
How It Works
Once it starts to run, the Trojan horse in the banner ad causes infected machines to contact multiple Web sites and download, among other unwanted programs, advertising software from PurityScan. The PurityScan software can cause unwanted pop-up windows to appear, and also tracks a user’s online activity.
Adware can be very difficult to remove, even for technically savvy users.
“The problem is, hackers are using a variety of exploits–especially WMF–to illegally and silently install this [adware] on users’ computers,” Dunham says.
